Garlic Production Line
Garlic is grown similar to onions, the difference being in growing time and harvesting techniques. Like onions, Moonrocks garlic is grown on a flat bed and watered using drip irrigation.
After about five months the leaves of the garlic slowly begin to die – signifying that the plant is nearing maturity.
Currently all garlic at Moonrocks is hand picked. This ensures an optimum product reaches the consumer. The garlic is stored in half tonne wooden bins where it cures for a number of weeks. This hardens the garlic and dries out the outer layer of skin.
The garlic is then packed and distributed to the Australian central marketing system.
